Smelting Process and Precautions for SnAgCu Alloy

2026-02-01

1. Required Equipment

Tin melting furnace

2. Process Method and Precautions

Charge all tin ingots first, then place the SnCu alloy on top of the tin ingots. This utilizes the heat released during the melting of tin ingots to dry the moisture in the SnCu alloy, thereby ensuring safe production.

Meanwhile, place the SnAg alloy beside the tin melting furnace for preheating.

After all the tin ingots are completely melted, manually stir the SnCu alloy to accelerate its melting. Then add the SnAg alloy in batches, insert a thermocouple to adjust the temperature of the molten tin, and maintain it within the range of 320–350℃.

Immediately perform mechanical stirring for more than 10 minutes after complete melting. Stop the machine, remove the dross, let the molten tin stand for 20 minutes, and cast into tin ingots only after the sample passes the inspection.

During the casting process, stir the molten tin for 5 minutes every 60 minutes to prevent the settlement of silver elements and avoid alloy composition segregation.

Carry out feeding shrinkage on the end faces of the tin ingots, remove oxides, ensure no dross is poured into the mold, and prevent cold shut defects.

Mark the SnAgCu stamp on each individual tin ingot.

Casting Temperature Requirements:

- Molten tin temperature: 320–350℃

- Mold temperature: 85–100℃
